About the Position:

  • This is a 1.0 FTE (Clinical/Academic) position with a full-spectrum caseload of adult cardiac surgery.
  • The successful candidate will participate in a call rotation of 1 week per month.
  • Collaboration with the Heart Failure, Structural Heart, and Cardiology Faculty is expected.
  • Academic and research opportunities are available based on the candidate's interests.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of general adult cardiac surgery.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in academic and research activities, including teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cardiac surgery and implement best practices in the department.

Requirements:

  • American Board of Thoracic Surgery certification or eligibility.
  • Desire to practice within an academic and research setting.
  • Experience in ECMO, temporary mechanical circulatory support devices, heart transplantation, and VADs is preferred.
  • Interest in lung transplantation is encouraged.
  • Commitment to quality and patient safety.
  • Valid Arizona medical license upon start date.
