Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Activities Assistant at Alliance Health at Maples. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, and executing a variety of therapeutic activities for our residents with different stages of dementia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with record keeping of progress and activity attendance.
  • Deliver mail, transport residents to and from activity programs, prepare the monthly activity calendar, and contribute to the monthly newsletter and fundraising efforts.
  • Direct or carry out a program of activities that will provide entertainment, inter-communication, exercise, relaxation, and opportunities to express creative talents and fulfill basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Previous experience working with residents/patients in a long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Dementia care experience or dementia care certification is preferred.
Work Environment:

This is a part-time or full-time position, working 24-32 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work occasional evening events, rotating holidays, and alternate weekend availability.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $16.00.
