Bakery Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our team at Giant Eagle. As a key player in our Bakery department, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of products to ensure only the freshest selection is available for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake products according to established recipes and procedures.
• Perform bench work and assemble necessary ingredients for baking operations.
• Properly insert products into proof boxes and ensure proper size and shape of product.
• Prepare and fry donuts according to established procedures.
• Insert products into and retrieve products from the freezer to preserve freshness.
• Provide excellent customer service and answer questions to ensure guest requirements are met.
• Maintain safety and sanitation regulations in all aspects of work.
• Accurately record special orders and maintain proper safety and sanitation methods.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of job-specific skills assessment.
• 6 to 12 months of experience or successful completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program.
• Prior experience working in Bakery or related industry is desired.
• No High School diploma required.
• Lifting requirement: up to 50 pounds.
• Age requirement: at least 18 years of age.
