Critical Care Per Diem Pool Nurse
Job Summary:The University of Kentucky is seeking a skilled Critical Care Per Diem Pool Nurse to join our team. As a member of our ICU team, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans
- Utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize patient needs and make sound clinical decisions
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and evidence-based care
- Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state RN license in good standing
- At least 18 months of ICU RN experience
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for the Healthcare Provider
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a daily basis and 25-50 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
- BSN degree
- At least 2 years of RN experience, preferably in critical care
7PM-730AM with some weekends, holidays, and call may be required. Depending on level, must work a minimum of 96 to 216 hours in a 6-week period.
Compensation:Per diem pay is based on the number of shifts agreed to work, with highest pay provided for night shift/weekend coverage. Pool pay based on levels:
- Level II - 144 hours on Nights/6 week schedule = $60/hr
- Level III - 216 hours any shift/6 week schedule = $70/hr
- Level IV - 216 hours on Nights/6 week schedule = $75/hr
