Position Overview:

The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant (RTA) is responsible for delivering direct rehabilitation services to patients as directed by a licensed Rehabilitation Therapist (RT), adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and company standards.


Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program
  • Active registration/licensure in the applicable state, maintaining good standing throughout employment
  • Preferred experience of one year in a post-acute care or similar environment
  • CPR certification required upon hire or to be obtained during orientation, with ongoing maintenance of certification

Job Responsibilities:
  • Engage in community health initiatives as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and email communication
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and support teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Maintain proper body mechanics at all times
  • Make informed decisions when necessary
  • Understand and comply with relevant laws, regulations, and facility guidelines
  • Implement departmental goals, objectives, and policies effectively
  • Exhibit proficiency in all required competency areas, including patient rights and safety
  • Foster professional relationships with colleagues and vendors
  • Uphold confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Adhere to company policies, including those related to compliance and harassment
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following the company’s Code of Conduct and completing required training

Essential Duties:
  • Follow rehabilitation treatment plans as directed by the supervising RT
  • Document patient progress accurately and promptly
  • Utilize therapy software efficiently and correctly
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor towards patients
  • Assist in patient evacuation procedures when necessary
  • Exhibit reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Apply reasoning skills and sound judgment in daily tasks
  • Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout the workday
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language proficiently
