Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Chico's. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in promoting a customer-focused sales culture and driving business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance Culture
    • Analyze sales reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business needs and execute in-store business and sales strategies in partnership with the Store Manager.
    • Establish and communicate clear expectations, holding the store team and yourself accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.
    • Manage payroll and supply budgets effectively.
    • Perform and oversee basic operational activities such as scheduling, target shrink audits, physical inventory, opening and closing duties, time sheet review, and payroll accuracy documents, as well as merchandise flow processes.
    • Ensure accurate and compliant register transactions in accordance with policy.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, loss prevention policies, operating procedures, and controls; conduct associate training to reinforce proper controls.
    • Administer operational processes, including inventory receipt/dispatch, daily replenishment of floor merchandise levels, and execution and preparation of physical inventories.
    • Ensure visual presentation, organization, and facility maintenance are representative of the brand.
    • Develop a high-performance culture, motivating sales teams to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.
    • Train and coach sales teams to ensure fluency in all aspects of product knowledge on-line and in-store.
    • Train, coach, and assist with locate fulfillment and selling.

    • Model sales expectations by utilizing various techniques and communicating product knowledge to customers; recommend merchandise selections or help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
    • Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns.
    • Ensure a fast and efficient register experience, remaining current on policies regarding payments, coupon acceptance, returns, and exchanges, security practices, and other applicable operations.
    • Ensure the team maintains consistent client communication through utilization of customer books, rewards program participation, and customer capture sign-up.
  • Talent
    • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing a high-performing team.
    • Support, implement, and provide follow-up for all training programs, seminars, etc.
    • Assess and coach store teams on performance.
    • In partnership with the Store Manager, resolve human resources issues in a timely and effective manner.
    • Drive associate and team engagement by recognizing and rewarding employees for outstanding performance.
    • Ensure the store team adheres to all employment practices and policies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of retail management experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills
  • Able to learn or adapt to technology provided by the company
  • Proven excellent customer service skills with statistical track records in all areas of sales and leadership
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership qualities, training, and team-building skills
  • Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations
  • Able to communicate with customers and staff
  • Regular attendance is essential to this position to ensure adequate coverage to meet company objectives.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
Physical Requirements
