About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Applications Engineer to join our team at Powell Industries. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our customers, helping them to select and implement the best solutions for their power system needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret customer-provided documents, including specifications, drawings, and data sheets, to assess feasibility of Powell manufacture or supply.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Powell's products and solutions, as well as industry trends and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute sales strategies and proposals.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers, including site visits and presentations.
  • Contribute to the development of new and existing product specifications, and participate in the review and approval of customer-provided specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical equipment estimating or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, sales teams, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as Oracle, and project management software, such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, with a typical office environment and occasional travel required. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and will be able to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
