Role Summary

The primary responsibility of the Estimator is to deliver precise scope evaluations, budgets, and proposals for construction initiatives. Key duties encompass plan analysis, detailing scopes for non-plan projects, material take-offs, equipment and labor cost estimation, vendor RFPs, proposal assessments, and scope adjustments. Additionally, the Estimator prepares project budgets, proposals, and change order estimates for ongoing work.

Our company primarily executes self-performed work. Therefore, a solid background in estimating supervision, labor, material, equipment, and transportation costs is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Comprehend and interpret bid instructions, deadlines, plans, specifications, and client directives
• Conduct material take-offs and solicit pricing from suppliers
• Compile an equipment list and estimate duration for each project
• Estimate supervision, labor, and other project-specific needs
• Participate in client pre-bid meetings and subsequent subcontractor discussions to clarify self-performed and subcontracted work scopes
• Identify and integrate safety measures into budgets
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective suppliers and subcontractors
• Foster relationships with clients and general contractors
• Oversee the buyout process in collaboration with the Project Manager

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating or project management
• In-depth knowledge and field experience in Civil, Concrete, Structural, and Framing work
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex RFPs
• Ability to detail project scopes, including exclusions and qualifications, to clarify pricing
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook
