Academic Coach

Clayton County Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Academic Coach to support teachers and instructional staff in addressing student achievement gaps and accelerating learning for all students.

The Academic Coach will play a critical role in building teacher capacity through the implementation of a standards-based curriculum, using data to drive instructional decisions, and providing constructive feedback through peer coaching.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in an educational field, a minimum of five years of teaching experience, and a proven track record of improving student learning outcomes.

The Academic Coach will work closely with teachers to track, maintain, and analyze schoolwide student achievement data, and will provide coaching and support to ensure that teachers are implementing evidence-based instructional practices.

The Academic Coach will also serve on the school leadership team and collaborate with the site-based administrative team to ensure that the progression of teacher skill development is aligned with changing student learning needs.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively with inter-organizational teams, and have a strong ability to facilitate professional learning of teacher groups and individuals.

The Academic Coach will be responsible for multiple functions of instructional supervision, including monitoring the implementation of the standards-based curriculum and providing content knowledge and resources regarding effective instructional practices.
