At St. Clare's - Boonton, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Associate to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Charge RN, RN, or LVN, assist the licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living.
- Perform therapeutic interventions with clients, such as group therapy, one-on-one counseling, or crisis intervention.
- Support the unit functions and maintain a safe, therapeutic, and clean environment for patients, visitors, and co-workers.
- Communicate pertinent patient information to the supervising RN and function as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Perform some clerical duties as assigned and provide basic nursing care for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Utilize education to provide designated group modality to patients and individual observations to assigned patients to assist them in learning new coping skills, identifying issues that cause conflict in relationships, and developing strategies for resolving conflicts.
- Provide emotional support to patients during difficult times by listening to their concerns, empathizing with their feelings, and helping them find solutions to their problems.
- Monitor patients' progress throughout treatment to ensure that they are compliant with their plans and provide pertinent team meeting information.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Current BCLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
- Behavioral Violence Prevention within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually
- One (1) year prior mental health experience preferred
- Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred
