Responsibilities

As an RN in the PACU, you will:

  • Assess the needs of patients and their families, providing essential education and referrals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Develop individualized care plans through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation to maintain a legal record of patient care.
  • Deliver exceptional care by applying the nursing process and demonstrating expertise in your specialty area, adhering to established policies and standards.
  • Utilize a holistic approach, considering the biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, and safety needs of patients and families.
  • Delegate tasks and provide guidance to other healthcare providers, holding them accountable for their contributions to the care plan.
  • Employ critical thinking skills to make independent judgments, maintaining accountability for the conditions of assigned patients.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Current nursing license in Iowa or eligibility as per Iowa Board of Nursing standards.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Demonstrated multicultural sensitivity.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong focus on customer and patient care.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and independent judgment in decision-making.
