Painter and Refinisher

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Refinisher to join our team at East Tennessee Children's Hospital. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the aesthetic appeal of our facilities through various painting and refinishing activities.

• Plan and execute painting and refinishing activities to maintain facility aesthetics.
• Install wallboard, ceramic and floor tile, and wall covering in designated areas, adhering to safety protocols and departmental policies.
• Select and mix materials, matching colors and tints correctly for spray, brush, or roller painting of walls, ceilings, furnishings, frames, equipment, or other items as instructed.
• Clean and prepare wall covering in damaged areas, and safely use and dispose of paints and solvents.
• Identify and report defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor in a timely manner to ensure the safety of patients, families, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a safe, clean, and orderly condition, and perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Follow all hospital and departmental standards and prescribed safety regulations consistently, and respond to facility emergency codes in a timely manner.
• Assist Engineering Department personnel as assigned by supervisor, and assist with snow removal as situation demands.
• Facilitate effective timing and scheduling for projects, and assist with color and selection for various areas and departments of the hospital.
• Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees, and promote effective working relations with department/unit team members.

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Valid TN Driver License required.
• 2 years experience in drywall and painting required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to crawl into small spaces and work from ladders.

• Light lifting, pushing, and pulling required for 10-20 lbs occasionally, and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs required.
• Frequent sitting, walking, standing, squatting, bending, and reaching required.
