Psychiatric Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Psychiatric Nurse 2 with the State of Nevada, you will be working in our Yerington office providing professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders. The State of Nevada's Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children across 12 counties. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality care and service to our communities. As a Psychiatric Nurse 2, you will be joining a dynamic team that prioritizes patient-centered care and collaboration.

Responsibilities:
• Provide direct psychiatric nursing services to consumers, including assessments and therapeutic interventions
• Organize and oversee medication services, including tele-medication services for prescribers
• Educate clients and families on medications and health-related issues
• Monitor treatment effectiveness and side effects
• Provide consultation and education to consumers, the community, and other service providers

Requirements:
• Experience working in psychiatric nursing settings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong assessment and problem-solving skills
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
