EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

The Classroom Educator is tasked with addressing the academic, physical, and socio-emotional requirements of students, aiming to enhance educational outcomes, foster the overall effectiveness of the educational institution, and optimize the learning opportunities accessible to each student. The implementation of age-appropriate methodologies is a fundamental expectation. The educator will cultivate an atmosphere conducive to learning, personal development, and care. Establishing constructive working relationships with all personnel and parents is essential.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  1. Consistently meets established teaching standards and criteria.
  2. Establish and uphold standards of student behavior to ensure a safe and organized teaching and learning environment.
  3. Create a learning atmosphere grounded in current and relevant research.
  4. Deliver instruction in whole group, small group, and individual formats tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
  5. Design daily and long-term lesson plans that provide varied educational experiences suitable for each student's needs.
  6. Implement the district-approved curriculum utilizing district-adopted instructional resources.
  7. Employ developmentally suitable instructional strategies and methods.
  8. Assess students' intellectual and social development, maintain accurate records, and assist in the preparation of progress reports.
  9. Provide timely and specific feedback to students regarding their academic performance.
  10. Engage with parents through conferences and other communication methods to discuss student development and explain the educational program.
  11. Maintain professional growth through participation in staff development initiatives.
  12. Contribute to team and building meetings, as well as projects and parent engagement activities.
  13. Foster and maintain a professional relationship with support staff.
  14. Supervise students during out-of-class activities throughout the workday.
  15. Fulfill responsibilities as outlined in the negotiated agreement.
  16. Assume additional duties as assigned.
