Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Assistant/Certified Limited Scope X-ray Technologist- PRN to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing routine clinical and administrative duties, as well as operating specialized X-ray equipment to capture diagnostic images of specific body parts as directed by providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completes diagnostic x-rays for patients within the scope of practice for Limited Scope X-ray Operator certification.
  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and protects patients, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.
  • Positions patients and takes X-rays of specific parts of the patients' body as requested by the physician.
  • Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
  • Accurately and efficiently takes vital signs and basic historical patient data, identifies abnormal patient findings, and communicates patient concerns or significant changes in patient's health status to the provider or RN.
  • Assists the provider in setting up for procedures, including aseptic and sterile techniques, provides safe administration of medications and immunizations, obtains EKGs, orders appropriate tests as directed by the provider, and schedules specialty and follow-up appointments as directed by the provider.
  • Prepares patients for examinations, assists with examinations, cast or splint applications, minor procedures, and a variety of other medically related tasks within their scope of knowledge.
Requirements
  • Certificate Program Graduate from an accredited program in Medical Office Assisting.
  • Completion of American Registry of Radiologic Technician (ARRT) recognized Limited Scope X-ray Operator training program.
  • PCDPHE Limited Scope Operators License to be acquired within 6 months of start date based on State of Colorado Statute.
