Wrongful Conviction Reintegration Coordinator

At the University of Notre Dame, we are committed to correcting miscarriages of justice and providing a smooth transition for exonerees from prison to society.

• Creation of a Re-Entry Manual (REM)
  • Develop a comprehensive Re-Entry Manual (REM) detailing Indiana-based public and private programs and resources to assist exonerees in transitioning from prison life.
  • Include federal, state, and private employment and job training programs, including eligibility requirements, procedures, and contacts for application.
• Coordinating Access to Resources and Programs
  • Match exonerees' needs with available resources and programs.
  • Assist exonerees in accessing and applying for relevant programs.
  • Aid in filling out applications accurately and accompany exonerees to program offices for meetings or interviews.
• Creation of a Needs Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ)
  • Develop a comprehensive Needs Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ) to identify immediate, short-term, and long-term needs of exonerees before their release.
  • Assist inmates in completing the NAQ in anticipation of their release.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent work experience.
• Some social work experience.
• Experience working with prison inmates in education, training, or a relevant field.
• Highly organized.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Mission-oriented.

• Post-graduate degree in Social Work preferred but not required.
