Job Title: Credit Manager

Uniform Color Company is seeking a highly skilled Credit Manager to join our team. As a Credit Manager, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of workers engaged in conducting credit investigations and collecting delinquent accounts of customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign workers responsibility for investigating and verifying the financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, preparing documents to substantiate findings, and recommending rejection or approval of applications.
  • Establish credit limitations on customer accounts and handle special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment.
  • Manage to age and apply collection techniques that attain superior results while maintaining the integrity of the relationship with clients.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the cash collection teams globally, mainly located in North America and Europe, to maximize cash flow through accounts receivable turnover.
  • Investigate discrepancies between sales invoice amount and payment from the customer, providing detailed information to sales staff.
  • Establish and update customers' credit activities.
  • Review collection reports to ascertain the status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate the effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.
  • Audit delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt status to the account.
  • Coordinate with others, including personnel in company branches and credit agencies, to exchange information and update controls.
  • Submit delinquent accounts to an attorney or outside agency for collection.
  • Assist management in the formulation of credit policies.
Requirements:
  • Experienced in credit and collections in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Previous experience with collections.
  • Prior experience evaluating financial statements and determining risks.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to tactfully interact with customers.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Skilled in the use of basic computer software, including Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
