Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing care and treatment to patients in a medical office setting, under the direction of a Physician, Advanced Clinical Provider, Registered Nurse, or supervising department manager. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures.
- Administer injections and medications, dress wounds, and provide accurate information to patients following established protocols.
- Collect patient data and maintain vital statistics and physiological information in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment, ensuring an adequate supply of necessary materials.
- Conduct specified laboratory tests as required.
- Perform receptionist duties, including communication with insurance companies and managing prescriptions.
- Coordinate with managed care for prior authorizations and schedule procedures.
- Respond to and triage patient phone calls and messages effectively.
- Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and other health-related inquiries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
- As directed by the department manager.
Required:
- Active North Carolina or Compact LPN License.
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
- One year of clinical nursing experience.
