Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Services Coordinator to join our team at Washington University. As a key member of our pediatric care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional social work services to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to discuss patient care management and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Assist with Insurance and Scheduling: Help patients and families navigate insurance coverage needs, transportation requirements, and scheduling appointments.
  • Facilitate Community Resources: Connect patients and families with local resources, referrals, and support services to ensure they receive the care they need.
  • Provide Patient Support: Offer emotional support, guidance, and education to patients and families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Prepare and maintain accurate psychosocial reports, records, and other documentation as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois.

  • Case Management and Problem-Solving: Strong case management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
