We are currently seeking dedicated and empathetic Healthcare Assistants to join our team in our Senior Living Community in Allen Park, MI. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting residents with activities of daily living and providing companionship and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADL), specifically but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians' orders and monitor and document residents' medication intake accurately.
- Assist residents with mobility challenges, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents, which may include light housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Provide regular updates on residents' well-being and any changes in their condition to the supervisor.
- Communicate professionally with families, support services, and coworkers of Homestead.
- Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
- Experience working with the elderly is preferred.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Every other weekend is required.
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid Driver's license or ID.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to arrive on time for every shift.
