Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls, including fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials incidents
  • Provide medical assistance, including patient assessment and treatment
  • Conduct fire prevention and education activities, including inspections and public outreach
  • Operate fire apparatus and equipment, including pumps and aerial devices
  • Participate in training and drills to maintain skills and knowledge
  • Maintain fire station facilities and grounds
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree supplemented with formal Fire Service training and experience
  • North Carolina Class C Driver's License (or equivalent State issued Driver's License)
  • Obtain certifications in North Carolina Firefighter Certification, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician, and North Carolina Hazardous Materials Level I Responder within the probationary period
