Become a vital part of the team at The University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial as an Inpatient Psychiatry Assistant Care Manager. In this pivotal role, you will support the leadership of the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit under the guidance of the Unit Director/Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a supportive leader during designated shifts, ensuring accountability for clinical practices.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination of patient care, addressing the needs of patients and their families.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to unit staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Serve as a representative for public relations, upholding the hospital's mission and values.
Essential Functions:
- Adhere to hospital policies and standards of care.
- Engage in budget preparation and monitor financial performance.
- Exhibit a positive attitude towards all stakeholders, including patients, families, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify patient care plans.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise and participate actively in specialty practices.
- Lead staff in facilitating patient care coordination and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct daily rounds to engage with patients and staff, addressing any concerns that arise.
- Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to staff selection and performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current RN Licensure in the State of Illinois or valid temporary permit.
- Basic Life Support certification (Healthcare Provider Recognition).
- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant nursing specialty.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
