Position Overview:
The Finance Data & Analytics team is expanding to meet the growing need for data-driven insights and analytical reporting. As a key member of this team, the Finance Data Analyst will collaborate with various departments to gather requirements and develop solutions that enhance our data and analytics capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Continuously seek to learn new skills and adapt to technological advancements.
- Employ innovative thinking to identify and tackle significant business challenges and opportunities.
- Establish yourself as a reliable resource for all teams within the Finance department.
- Mentor and guide a Finance Data Analytics Intern.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with partners in the IT Data Team and other business units.
Data and Analytics Duties:
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Collecting and documenting requirements for dashboards, reports, and potential process automations.
- Engaging with department leaders to evaluate existing processes and pinpoint areas for improvement, enhancement, and automation.
- Creating reports, dashboards, and processes based on defined requirements.
- Utilizing tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Excel, and SSRS to develop solutions that enhance Finance's ability to deliver meaningful data to our business partners.
- Building and executing test plans to ensure the accuracy of all new developments, enhancements, and updates.
- Acting as a steward of the data utilized by Finance to guarantee its accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborating with the Technology and Data Analytics Manager to review Finance-specific elements for our data hub, ensuring alignment with departmental needs.
- Maintaining and supporting all initiatives under the Finance Data Analytics team to ensure both immediate and long-term success.
- Creating training materials to empower associates with a self-service model.
- Conducting training sessions for Finance Associates as required.
- Completing other tasks as assigned by the Technology & Data Analytics Manager.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in the Financial Industry.
- Experience with data analysis, data profiling, and data modeling; SQL knowledge is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, SQL Server Management Studio, and Microsoft Excel.
- A passion for data, a commitment to continuous learning, and a natural curiosity about how data and technology can solve business challenges.
- The ability to manage a backlog of work items and prioritize effectively while working independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, along with excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.
