Job Overview

Cambridge International Systems Inc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network and Systems Engineer to join our team in Charleston, SC. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network and systems infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement server system architecture to meet business needs.
  • Manage virtualized environments to ensure efficient and operational systems.
  • Conduct quality control procedures to ensure systems are efficient and operational.
  • Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network and server systems architecture.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis and provide detailed information for hardware and software selection.
  • Conduct testing of information systems architecture design and document test procedures.
  • Monitor network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
  • Plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network, server, and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing.
  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, management, and IT staff during the creation and maintenance of a system.

Required Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Security+ certification.
  • CCNA certification.
  • VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization) certification desired.
  • CCNP certification desired.
  • 8-10 years of experience in a related field, or a Master's Degree with 6-8 years of experience.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Physical Environment and Working Conditions

Cambridge International Systems complies with Temporary Duty Station (TDY)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) vaccination requirements.

Office setting:

  • Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
  • Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
  • May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
