Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Services Professional to join our team at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a County Caseworker 1, you will play a vital role in providing supportive services to children, youth, and families, as well as individuals with mental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in mental health, including new treatment modalities, interventions, and resources.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources, including social services, healthcare providers, and other relevant organizations.
  • Conduct home visits and assessments to identify client needs and develop individualized service plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and support services to clients and their families.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including healthcare providers, social workers, and law enforcement, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Document client interactions, progress, and outcomes in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Two years of college-level coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children, youth, and adults with mental disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
