Cardiac Monitor Technician

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Monitor Technician observes heart rhythms for all cardiac monitored patients in the hospital. This role requires the ability to accurately read cardiac monitors, communicate pertinent information to the charge nurse/physicians, and document individual heart rhythms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Able to accurately read cardiac monitors.
- Able to urgently communicate pertinent information to the charge nurse/physicians.
- Continually scrutinizes and documents individual heart rhythms.
- Able to take initiative to seek out charge nurse/leadership if unable to differentiate a cardiac monitor reading.
- Demonstrates knowledge in understanding the default alarms and adjustment of alarms.
- Visually observe real time video of patients in rooms and alert patients nurse when necessary.
Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Current CNA on the IL Registry required.
- 1+ year of experience in acute care preferred.
- Must successfully complete the Cardiac Monitor Tech class.
- BLS Required within 30 days of hire.
