Recreational Therapist

Job Summary

Arbor View Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Specialist to join our team. As an Activities Specialist, you will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
• Collaborate with the Activity Director to create a schedule of activities that promotes socialization, engagement, and overall well-being.
• Conduct group and one-to-one activity programs, including arts and crafts, games, and other recreational activities.
• Ensure that activity areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Assist residents with mobility and transportation to and from activity programs as needed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive environment.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and company policies.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in a related position, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Aptitude for and/or some training in arts and crafts is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centered care with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity.
