Position Overview
This is a full-time role for a Taxation Supervisor within our tax and accounting division.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing tax preparation and strategic planning for both individuals and businesses, as well as providing accounting services to our clientele.
You will independently review tax returns and offer constructive feedback to preparers.
Effective communication with clients, both verbally and in writing, is essential.
Additionally, you will identify tax planning opportunities for discussion with partners and clients, focusing on client satisfaction, self-motivation, and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and deliver individual and business income tax returns prepared by staff.
- Provide accounting services, including the preparation and compilation of financial statements.
- Communicate independently with clients, the IRS, and other professionals.
- Adhere to established standard operating procedures.
- Conduct tax research and remain informed about changes in tax law.
- Identify missing information, errors, and planning opportunities.
- Manage engagement budgets and billing processes.
- Offer on-the-job coaching to preparers and staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field.
- Active CPA or EA license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting.
- Experience with signing individual and/or business income tax returns is advantageous.
- Familiarity with preferred software (Ultra Tax, SurePrep, Accounting CS, QuickBooks) is beneficial but not mandatory.
