Job Summary

As a skilled NP/PA in Gastroenterology, you will provide high-quality primary health care to a specific patient population, adhering to established protocols and nursing standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in diagnosing and treating various conditions, recommending treatments, and performing charting and documentation tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, defects, or injuries, and recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects.
  • Perform all charting, summaries, correspondence, and assorted paperwork required for documenting care and billing.
  • Participate in physician educational programs provided by Prisma Health relative to capitated medicine and its implications on physician practice patterns.
  • Participate in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts.
  • Participate in the establishment of quality assurance programs, utilization management programs, selection of management information systems, development of patient education services, and development of patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Assist in the development of operational and capital budgets.
  • Participate in operational assessments in search of revenue enhancement, expense reductions, consolidation efficiencies, and billing opportunities.

Maintain courteous and cooperative working relationships with all levels of management and employees, physicians, patients, guarantors, and the general public. Participate in activities that would further the public's image of Prisma Health.

Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent.
  • South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner - NLNP.
  • Prescriptive Authority South Carolina Nursing License.
  • South Carolina Controlled Substance license; Federal DEA license.
Work Environment

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work shift is variable, and the location is 115 N Sumter St Sumter, with the facility being 3213 ML Gastro-Sumter and the department being ML Gastro-Sumter-Practice Operations.
