Cardiovascular Technologist

Job Summary

At Sigma, we are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technologist to join our team. As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will be responsible for performing duties for diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and other Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Electrophysiology procedures in a professional manner with minimal supervision and demonstrating responsible, independent judgment.

Responsibilities

Performs duties for diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and other Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Electrophysiology procedures in a professional manner with minimal supervision and demonstrating responsible, independent judgment.
Assists in patient care in pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure environment, and may function in role of scrub/assistant in the sterile field, control room monitoring or monitoring patients in pre/post-procedure environment.
Prepares and operates all equipment correctly, completes or assures completion of daily checks for presence and function of emergency equipment, and adheres to Standard Precautions (Body Substance Isolation) precautions.
Participates in ordering supplies, maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and equipment, and performs routine maintenance of radiological equipment and monitors radiation safety.
Functions as cardiology educator for patients, co-workers, the community, other departments, and physicians' offices in a manner that positively markets and promotes services of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and promotes cardiovascular health and wellness.

Requirements

Current BLS and ACLS certification
10 hour shifts, 7-12 days of call per month, call every 3rd to 4th weekend, potential holiday call
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential thru Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred
