Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bundler to join our team at Worzalla. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting operators with basic set-up functions and ensuring the highest level of quality in our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and Assist: Assist in the set-up of folder, stacker, and sheeter, ensuring smooth production processes.
  • Bundling and Stacking: Uniformly bundle folded book signatures and stack banded and loose signatures on pallets using the hoist when available.
  • Supply Management: Ensure pallets, banding, and other supply materials are stocked, and notify necessary personnel of shortages.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform minor machine adjustments and assist in web up of press when necessary.
  • Make-Ready and Cleaning: Assist in make-ready, including wiping down blankets, changing ink, and performing clean up on and around press. Assist as needed in mounting plates/blankets and perform maintenance on press equipment.
  • Cleaning and Housekeeping: Responsible for cleaning and general housekeeping in the department.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Grease, oil, and maintain press equipment as scheduled or required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster the continual use and implementation of philosophies and tools that are taught at Worzalla, promoting the concept of working together as a team and with other departments to build continuous improvement.
  • Training and Development: Train to perform next-level position to effectively cover absences and breaks, as well as to be sufficiently prepared for job progression.
  • Process Improvement: Continually identify, develop, and implement improvements in work processes.
  • Core Values: Consistently and effectively serve as a positive role model by living Worzalla's core values.
Basic Qualifications
  • Mechanical and Math Skills: Basic mechanical and math skills required.
  • Learning and Understanding: Ability to learn and understand bundling, roll tending, assisting crew during make-readies, and actively participate in production-related activities and follow the direction of the press operators and supervisors.
  • Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks for an extended period of time.
  • Forklift Certification: Ability to obtain and maintain Type II Forklift certification.
  • Arithmetic and English: Knowledge of arithmetic and structure and content of the English language to include the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition required.
  • Independence and Initiative: Ability to consistently and effectively work independently with little or no direction and follow up to complete assignments required.
  • Job Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate practical and technical knowledge of the job including an understanding of work instructions, processes, equipment, and materials to perform the job required.
  • Work Quality and Accuracy: Ability to consistently and effectively complete work and required paperwork thoroughly, accurately, and neatly following established processes and procedures required.
  • Teamwork and Compliance: Ability to consistently and effectively demonstrate initiative and creativity; teamwork and cooperation; and adhere to and comply with all company and environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and work rules required.
  • Attendance and Overtime: Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime and other shifts required. Prompt and reliable attendance required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Web or Sheet Fed Press Experience: Previous web or sheet fed press experience preferred.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals. Position requires ability to move with ease in the production area; remain in stationary position for prolonged periods of time on concrete/hard surface; use hands and fingers constantly for handling, gripping, and manipulating product; constantly position oneself to complete work including bending, twisting, rotating, and reaching; and move product weighing up to 100 pounds.
