Pet Groomer

This role is responsible for providing exceptional pet grooming services to dogs, utilizing knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.

• Deliver outstanding customer satisfaction by providing personalized grooming services
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments in a timely manner
• Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, and following up with reminders
• Book appointments and greet pets as they arrive
• Report any accidents or injuries to the Store Manager promptly
• Follow established bathing and grooming procedures
• Clean ears, clip nails, and perform other necessary services
• Adhere to customer instructions for clipping patterns
• Clip dog's hair according to determined patterns using electric clippers, combs, and shears
• Comb and shape dogs' coats
• Use non-physical techniques to keep animals calm
• Complete and maintain customer and company forms
• Properly fill out required grooming forms
• Observe and adhere to safety rules and procedures
• Sweep, vacuum, clean, and sanitize cages, tubs, and other areas as needed
• Assist with store operations as needed

• Minimum of 1-year experience grooming or styling pets
• Comfortable working with dogs and cats
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately
• Successful completion of Paragon Level 1 & 2 training provided by Petsense

• Operate and use all grooming tools and equipment
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately

• Work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate
• Stand and walk for long periods
• Safely work around pets and their waste

Working environment is favorable, generally working inside with moderate noise. Exposure to wet conditions, pets, and pet waste.

• Ability to move and transfer live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and maintain a stationary position for up to 8 hours while grooming animals
• Ability to frequently move around the salon to groom animals, clean, and maintain the salon
• Ability to utilize grooming instruments, including shears and dryers
• Ability to frequently lift or reach merchandise overhead
• Ability to bend, kneel, and squat frequently to position oneself to groom animals, clean shelves, and stock merchandise and equipment
• Ability to constantly operate store equipment, such as computers and cash registers
