About the Automotive Technician Role
As an Automotive Technician at First Student, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of school buses, ensuring their safety and readiness for service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
- Diagnosing and executing repairs on various vehicle systems, including brakes, suspensions, and transmissions.
- Completing work orders with precision.
- Assisting with mobile emergency services as needed.
Qualifications for the Automotive Technician Position
- A valid driver's license is essential; candidates must be willing to obtain a CDL while employed, with training provided.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in automotive or diesel maintenance and repair, or relevant technical education.
- Possession of a complete mechanic's toolset is required.
- Willingness to engage in the ASE certification program, with training and bonuses available.
- Must pass DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
