Job Description

The Recreation Program Manager will supervise the daily activities and staff within your designated area. This role necessitates diplomacy, empathy, and professionalism due to ongoing interactions with residents and their families to ensure their contentment. Responsibilities include coordinating and implementing program services, such as family engagement initiatives, spiritual activities, and community outreach/volunteer opportunities. Additionally, you will be responsible for recruiting, selecting, overseeing, and nurturing program services personnel. You will also manage the procurement of program supplies and equipment, while tracking and accounting for expenses.

Job Requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related discipline.

Skills:
Proven knowledge and experience working with residents experiencing dementia and implementing suitable therapeutic/behavioral strategies. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language in a clear and understandable manner.

License:

Certification:
NCTRC certification is preferred.

Physical Demands:
Ability to push/pull and lift/carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis. Capable of walking, standing, talking, and hearing. Must be able to navigate freely throughout the facility.
