Academic Faculty Pool for World Languages and Literatures

The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Texas State University seeks to develop a pool of temporary faculty with expertise in world languages for positions at the rank of lecturer. The department offers majors and minors in Spanish, French, and German, as well as a minor in Arabic, Chinese, Italian, and Japanese.
Successful candidates will be able to teach courses in the language in their area of expertise. Temporary faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester, with eligibility for annual reappointment contingent upon satisfactory performance evaluations and departmental need.
Required qualifications include a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field, while preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in the specific area of instruction and previous teaching experience.
Application procedures include submitting a current CV, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, and evidence of teaching effectiveness or a portfolio of student work. Contact information for three academic references is also required.
