Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NM Tech) plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging process at Baylor Scott & White Health. As a key member of the healthcare team, this professional is responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, PET, and theranostic procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients. The NM Tech works closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance: Performs high-quality nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic procedures according to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Caring Practices: Communicates effectively with patients to ensure their comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Patient Safety: Adheres to radiation safety requirements and protocols to protect patients, team members, and themselves.
  • Radiation Safety: Safely administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications, and ensures accurate transfer of patient images to the picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
  • Collaboration: Works collaboratively with colleagues, nursing partners, medical staff, and radiologists to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT-N) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
