Job Title: Staff Hardware Reliability Engineer

Aurora Innovation is seeking a highly skilled Staff Hardware Reliability Engineer to join our Hardware Reliability team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and executing reliability tests for our hardware systems, working closely with design teams to incorporate complex design interactions into reliability tests, and translating design risks into risk-down test procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and orchestrate the execution of reliability tests focused on hardware with novel optomechanical and integrated photonics designs
  • Work with the reliability team and design teams to incorporate complex design interactions into reliability tests with respect to the operating environment and the physics of failure
  • Translate design risks captured in FMEA into risk-down test procedures with well-defined test outcomes
  • Plan and orchestrate the execution of design of experiments (DOE) tests to generate insights into design failure modes and potential mitigations
Requirements:
  • Experience taking a product through test design, execution, and analysis
  • Hands-on experience with designing test setups and test flows that can be executed by a contract manufacturer
  • Experience with the physics of failure in general PCBA designs
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis of electromechanical designs
  • Experience with automating lab tests for electromechanical designs
