Job Summary

The Maintenance Operations Manager will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and improvement of equipment and support systems at our facility. This will involve directing, managing, and developing a team of maintenance technicians, operators, and handlers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the local management team to provide technical input, solutions, and options for improving productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Maintain maximum efficiencies and establish priorities for the maintenance function.
  • Directly supervise hourly co-workers, ensuring a motivated and skilled workforce.
  • Assess skills, write performance reviews, and recommend training to ensure department personnel are technically competent.
  • Manage the movement of equipment and molds, and act as the key contact person for equipment and molds at the facility.
  • Track expenditures and labor costs to ensure compliance with plant and department budgets.
  • Recommend and implement programs to eliminate problems, improve labor utilization, upgrade facilities, and reduce costs.
  • Seek bids on construction, alteration, or installation work, recommend contractors, administer contracts, and coordinate work performed.
  • Develop, implement, improve, and comply with preventative maintenance programs, ensuring repair work is documented.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local safety and health, environmental, building, and fire ordinances and standards.
  • Actively participate in local safety programs and ensure maintenance team performs work in a safe manner.
  • Participate in plant audits, including GMP, HACCP, and GFSI.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Administer Amcor's safety program daily.
  • Design and maintain safety bulletins, posters, and Amcor's safety rules and regulations.
  • Assist in accident investigations, analysis, and preparation of accident reports and summaries.
  • Prepare descriptions of identified unsafe conditions and steps to correct them.
  • Help develop and purchase safety equipment and programs.
  • Advise employees of potential or actual dangers, how to isolate, prevent, or remove them.
  • Ensure safety inspection reports are completed and corrected.
  • Ensure corrective action is taken when hazards or deficiencies are identified.
  • Help design, present, and assist with safety training.
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety literature and safety legislation.
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards and responsibilities are followed.
  • Provide a good example for employees by directing and performing work in a safe manner.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering discipline preferred.
  • Five years industrial maintenance experience, preferably with blow molding experience.
  • Good working knowledge of high production machinery and facilities.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, write reports and business correspondence, and effectively present information to groups.
