Job Description

The Department of Computer Science at the College of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a term faculty position in Computer Science. This is a teaching-intensive, 9-month position renewable annually.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach core undergraduate courses in all areas of Computer Science
  • Serve as the Capstone (Senior Design) Coordinator for the department
  • Develop and teach new courses as necessary
  • Advise students and serve on committees
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to teach computer science courses at the undergraduate level
  • Experience in teaching courses in basic programming languages
  • Ability to supervise capstone design projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • M.S. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related area
