Position Overview:

As the Lead Nursing Supervisor, you will oversee a team of committed nursing professionals, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to our residents. Your responsibilities will include recruitment, onboarding, skill assessment, and ongoing training of nursing staff. You will collaborate with physicians, manage medication distribution, and maintain precise treatment records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the nursing unit, including staff scheduling and supervision.
  • Optimize the use of personnel, supplies, and equipment to ensure safe and effective resident care.
  • Communicate with physicians as needed, ensuring timely and appropriate medical interventions.
  • Evaluate staffing needs and adjust personnel assignments to meet resident care requirements and budgetary constraints.
  • Address and resolve any complaints or issues that arise.
  • Oversee the comprehensive nursing care for residents within your assigned unit during your shift.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Clearly explain procedures, treatments, and care plans to residents.
  • Accurately transcribe physician orders into resident charts and care plans.
  • Document care provided and residents' responses in a clear and factual manner.
  • Facilitate effective communication during shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
  • Adhere to established protocols for reporting incidents involving residents and staff.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess the quality of care and address comfort and safety needs.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
  • Monitor residents' vital signs and report any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with established nursing standards and protocols.
  • Contribute to the development and review of care plans for both acute and long-term needs.
  • Participate in investigations related to any reported incidents of abuse.
  • Ensure that documentation aligns with care plans and that staff are familiar with these plans before providing care.
  • Oversee daily documentation practices and ensure accurate reporting from nursing staff.
  • Fulfill all other nursing responsibilities as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must possess a current State Registered Nurse license with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A good standing in the state registry is essential.
