Veterinarian Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinarian Specialist to join our team at Petco. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and working closely with our clients to ensure the best possible outcomes for their pets.

• Provide high-quality patient care through physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, as well as preventive care.
• Utilize a problem-based approach to develop complete problem lists, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatments based on diagnostic test results.
• Document patient observations, findings, treatments, and diagnoses in a concise and detailed manner.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals.
• Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization and communicate effectively with referral hospitals to ensure continuity of care.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
• Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License, if applicable.
• USDA Category I Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.

We offer a competitive salary range of $79,170.00 - $169,000.00 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health and financial benefits, 401K, incentives, and PTO.
