Job Overview

Position Summary: The Senior Field Mechanic at MYR Group is responsible for traveling to various project sites within the designated service area to assist our field teams. This role involves utilizing your expertise to conduct maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will have opportunities for personal growth and the potential to advance within our Fleet Department.

Location: This role is primarily based in the designated service area.

Travel Requirements: The position necessitates travel across multiple states, including overnight stays at project locations. The mechanic may also need to respond to urgent situations outside of standard working hours, including weekends and holidays. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided, along with meals and lodging during travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced-level mechanic tasks using independent judgment to apply procedures and practices to specific work scenarios.
  • Conduct a comprehensive range of servicing and repairs on various fleet equipment, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and company schedules.
  • Travel frequently to customer job sites for equipment maintenance and repairs, maintaining a clean and professional service vehicle.
  • May oversee and mentor less experienced mechanics.
  • Execute routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Identify mechanical issues through visual inspections or computer diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of time, materials, equipment condition, and repairs performed.
  • Utilize computer software to track information, ensuring repair orders and timesheets are complete and precise.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and prepare necessary safety documentation.
  • Comply with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Participate in training programs to maintain and enhance safety skills and knowledge.
  • Fulfill other assigned duties as required.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform essential functions at designated company locations.
  • Adhere to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair; equivalent technical school experience may be considered.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment; must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • A valid Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $66,560 - $83,200 per year, commensurate with experience.
