Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Truck Driver CDL Class A to join our team in Detroit, MI. As a Home Daily Class A CDL Flatbed Driver, you will be responsible for delivering steel and metal products to customers in the Metro Detroit area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading and unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay: $1225 - $1300 average weekly
  • Daily pay: $106.09 per day
  • Solo miles pay: $0.42 per mile with 425 miles per week
  • Solo stops pay: $8.56 per stop with 65 stops per week
  • Tenure bonus: $1200, paid $300 four times a year, every quarter
  • Loyalty bonus: $3000, paid $1500 at 6 months and $1500 at 1 year

Requirements:

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
