Senior Manufacturing Engineer Lead-Paint Specialist

International UTC of Columbus is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer Lead-Paint Specialist to lead the design, development, and implementation of robotic systems for paint applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering and experience with robotic programming languages and tools.
Key Responsibilities- Program and optimize robotic systems, including Fanuc robots, for various paint applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing production lines
- Conduct testing and validation of robotic systems to ensure performance meets quality and safety standards
- Troubleshoot and debug robotic systems, identifying and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in robotic paint applications, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on the operation and maintenance of robotic systems
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate robotic equipment and components, ensuring compatibility and reliability
- Participate in new product development projects, providing expertise on robotic paint applications and contributing to design reviews and feasibility studies
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards governing robotic systems and paint processes
- Oversee the setup, calibration, and maintenance of painting equipment and systems
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of paint defects, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to uphold product integrity
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing paint consumption, minimizing waste, and enhancing environmental sustainability
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- At least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing
- OR Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of experience in product manufacturing
- OR At least 7 years of experience in product manufacturing
- Experience with advanced robotic programming languages and tools
- Familiarity with automation technologies and integration with robotic systems
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with simulation software for robotic systems (Paint pro)
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems used in robotic applications
- In-depth knowledge of Piggable systems related to color change processes, with a demonstrated ability to implement innovative solutions
- Desirable knowledge in Allen Bradley PLC
