Adventist Health is seeking a skilled EKG Technician to join our team in Whittier, California.
Job Summary:As an EKG Technician, you will be responsible for performing standard and complex electrocardiogram (ECG) procedures using specialized equipment. You will use electrocardiogram equipment and medical techniques to record the electrical impulses transmitted by a patient's heart for diagnostic purposes. Your duties will include scheduling patients and procedures, gathering medical history, explaining testing procedures, and monitoring patient status.
Responsibilities:- Perform electrocardiogram tests as requested by a physician to detect heart disorders.
- Complete stress tests by hooking up a patient to an ECG monitor for a baseline reading and then monitoring the patient's heart while they exercise on a treadmill.
- Calibrate and check equipment on a weekly basis and order necessary supplies.
- Process patient records in adherence with established procedures.
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
