Senior Presbyterian Pastor

Astoria Community Church, a vibrant Presbyterian church in Queens, New York, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Pastor to lead our congregation. As a spiritual leader, you will guide our diverse community in worship, teaching, and pastoral care, while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the church.

• Worship and Spiritual Guidance: Preach inspiring sermons, administer sacraments, and provide spiritual leadership to our congregation.
• Teaching and Ministry: Develop and lead Christian education classes, prepare curriculum for community groups, and conduct introductory classes for prospective members.
• Leadership and Mentoring: Lead through servant leadership, mentor our congregation, church staff, and volunteers, and train and mentor ministry leaders.
• Pastoral Care, Counseling, and Community Building: Build meaningful relationships with congregation members, provide pastoral care, and effectively handle crisis situations.
• Church Operations: Collaborate with church staff, Session, and Trustees to ensure the church's mission and vision are met, and oversee the planning and implementation of church programs and events.

• Ordained Presbyterian Church of America (PCA) minister in good standing.
• Demonstrated love for and commitment to the proclamation of the Christian gospel, Christ's church, and His people.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; master's degree or equivalent in divinity or theology.
• 5+ years of experience in pastoral ministry, leading a diverse, established congregation, with at least 2 years of experience weekly preaching.
• Strong biblical knowledge and understanding of Reformed theology and Presbyterian doctrine.
• Excellent verbal, active listening, written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.

• Base Salary Range: $100K - $120K annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Benefits Include: 1 month of paid vacation and a three-month sabbatical every 5 years.
