Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Science Teacher to join our team at Spokane Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Chemistry and Physics to high school students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
  • Utilize technology to enhance the learning experience and improve student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate and improve the science program.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Science endorsement.
  • Experience working with students of trauma and poverty.
  • Ability to work effectively in a large urban high school setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching Chemistry and Physics.
  • Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and classroom management techniques.
