Responsibilities:


The GI Lab Registered Nurse is directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, with indirect accountability to the Shift Nursing Supervisor.

This role entails the provision of both direct and indirect patient care for Medical-Surgical Outpatients and/or Inpatients undergoing surgical and/or invasive procedures through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescents, adults, and older adults.

Effective communication with physicians, colleagues, and nursing directors regarding the patient's clinical status, including diagnostic study results and symptomatology, is essential.

The nurse must be capable of responding swiftly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment responses.

Collaboration with other departments is necessary to ensure a continuum of care, and teamwork with colleagues is vital for delivering continuous, high-quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and maintaining unit organization.

Adherence to regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures is required. Participation in Performance Improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and in-services is expected. The nurse acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintenance of current status.
  • ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintenance of current status.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an acute care or outpatient surgery environment or G.I. lab.
  • Completion of Moderate Sedation competency within 30 days of hire is required.

Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreements and/or employment status, such as full-time or part-time. The current compensation range for this position is $41.62 to $68.40.

The specific starting compensation will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, considering a wide range of factors, including skillset, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
