Job Overview

Objective: The role of a warehouse associate involves managing inventory, processing orders, and ensuring efficient operations within the warehouse environment. The primary aim is to enhance productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction while upholding safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the shipping and receiving processes, including unloading trucks and verifying merchandise.
  • Prepare customer orders by handling requests and supply orders; this includes pulling materials, packing boxes, and organizing items for delivery.
  • Sort and arrange materials or products on shelves, racks, or bins according to established organizational guidelines.
  • Open and inspect bales, crates, and other shipping containers.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by tracking stock locations, printing requests, and recording quantities of materials received or distributed using computer systems. May also involve participating in physical inventory counts.
  • Ensure a safe and tidy work environment by keeping storage areas and workstations organized; perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
  • Utilize appropriate safety equipment at all times.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication, organizational, time management, and mathematical abilities.
  • Dependable and trustworthy work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to use hands for handling, reaching, and communicating.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move objects weighing between 10-50 lbs, with occasional lifting of items over 100 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is necessary.
  • Occasional sitting and climbing may be required.
  • Specific vision capabilities needed for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Forklift operation experience is mandatory for consideration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
