The Nurse Manager oversees the planning, organization, and management of patient care operations for a designated area on a 24-hour basis. This includes developing strategic goals and processes to enhance and improve operations, evaluating achievements and problems, and managing the work performance of patient care staff.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement short, mid, and long-term goals and processes to enhance and improve patient care operations
- Evaluate and identify achievements and problems in meeting goals
- Manage, guide, coach, and evaluate the work performance of patient care staff
- Promote and ensure ongoing collaboration with other patient care departments and areas
- Develop, administer, and manage unit budget plans
- Identify, plan, and initiate cost-saving initiatives
- Participate in the development of evidence-based standards of practice
- Identify opportunities for improvement in patient care and organizational processes
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing required
- Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred
- Current Ohio RN license
- Minimum of three years RN clinical experience and two years management experience in a relevant care setting
- Holds a current certification in nursing administration or area of clinical expertise
The Nurse Manager will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a team of professional healthcare providers. The unit is a 27-bed acute care department with a wide variety of patients, including those with medical issues that range from acutely ill to long-term illness and disease management.
